Here’s your weekly update from myself and the rest of the team.

What’s Been Happening

The team have been carrying out school and local park patrols. During such, on Friday officers came across a vehicle where the passenger was smoking cannabis. All occupants in the vehicle were searched and the vehicle too. The vehicle was found to be untaxed and accordingly seized.

We’re not just the only officers out and about checking parks, on Tuesday at 2.00 am response officers noting headlights have gone to investigate which resulted in a Cranstoun Order being given.

Operation Ruby

We have been visiting local mobile businesses across the four wards as part of Operation Ruby which is a force wide initiative tackling robberies including phone snatches. Please, when out and about don’t have your phone on show. It is worth finding out your phones IMEI number. This will be needed should your phone ever be lost or stolen, but often people don't know this information and by then it's too late.

Knowing your IMEI number could help police track your phone and return it to you if it is stolen in the future. Protect your phone | West Midlands Police

Campervans

Two campervans have been targeted for their awnings. There are anti-theft measures you can take to prevent this such as replacing mounting bolts with shear/ snap off nuts which are available from caravan specialists. Crime figures

Over the past nine days, there have been three theft from motor vehicles on LAKEVIEW ROAD, BRANKSOME ROAD and MALVERN ROAD, one attempted theft of a vehicle on CLAYTON ROAD and a theft of a vehicle from KINGSBURY ROAD .
